1. Introduction

Welcome to MUSE Pilates. By accessing our website, booking a class, purchasing a membership or credit package, or attending our studio, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions in full. Please read them carefully before making any purchase or booking.

These Terms & Conditions form a legally binding agreement between you ("the Client") and MUSE Pilates ("we," "us," "our"). If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our services.

2. Services

MUSE Pilates offers reformer Pilates classes, workshops, events, and related wellness services at our Amsterdam Oost studio and, where applicable, via digital platforms. All services are subject to availability and may be updated or modified at our discretion.

3. Bookings & Reservations

  • All classes must be booked in advance via our official booking platform.

  • Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of payment or valid credit/membership.

  • MUSE Pilates reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes at any time. In the event of a studio-side cancellation, affected clients will receive a full credit to their account.

  • Class capacity is limited. A confirmed booking guarantees your spot; an unconfirmed waitlist placement does not.

  • Waitlisted clients will be notified by automated message if a spot becomes available. It is the client's responsibility to monitor their booking status.

4. Cancellation Policy

We operate a strict 12-hour cancellation window. This policy exists to respect the time and experience of our instructors, other clients, and the studio as a whole.

Late Cancellation & No-Show Fee

  • Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the scheduled class start time are considered late cancellations.

  • Failure to attend a booked class without prior cancellation constitutes a no-show.

  • Both late cancellations and no-shows are subject to a €10 penalty fee, charged to the payment method on file or deducted from your account balance.

  • This fee applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including illness, travel, or personal emergencies. We encourage all clients to cancel as early as possible if unsure about attendance.

How to Cancel

Cancellations must be made via our official booking platform. Cancellations by email, Instagram DM, WhatsApp, or any other channel will not be accepted and will not override the cancellation policy.

5. Intro Offers

  • Our intro offer is strictly non-refundable once purchased.

  • Intro offers are valid for new clients only. Each person is entitled to one intro offer. Fraudulent use of intro offers (e.g., creating multiple accounts) will result in immediate cancellation of membership without refund.

  • Intro offers are non-transferable and may not be shared.

  • Intro offer validity periods are clearly stated at the point of purchase and will not be extended under any circumstances.

6. Memberships & Credit Packages

Credit Packages

  • Class credits are valid for the period stated at the point of purchase. Credits expire on the stated expiry date and will not be extended or refunded.

  • Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable once purchased, unless required by Dutch consumer law.

Monthly Memberships

  • Memberships are billed monthly on a recurring basis via the payment method on file.

  • Memberships require a minimum commitment period as stated at the point of purchase.

  • After the minimum period, memberships continue on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled.

  • To cancel a membership, written notice must be submitted via our booking platform or by email to [studio email address] at least 14 days before the next billing date.

  • Memberships are non-transferable, non-shareable, and may not be frozen or paused except in exceptional medical circumstances (supported by a doctor's note), at MUSE Pilates' sole discretion.

  • MUSE Pilates reserves the right to adjust membership pricing with a minimum of 30 days' written notice to the client.

Refund Policy

  • All sales are final. Refunds are not issued for unused credits, missed classes, or membership fees already charged, except where required by applicable Dutch law (Wet Koop op Afstand / consumer purchase regulations).

7. Payments

  • All prices are listed in Euros (€) and are inclusive of applicable VAT unless otherwise stated.

  • Payment is required in full at the time of booking or purchase.

  • MUSE Pilates uses a third-party booking and payment platform to process transactions securely. Your payment details are handled directly by that platform and are not stored by MUSE Pilates.

  • In the event of a failed payment, MUSE Pilates reserves the right to suspend access to bookings until payment is resolved.

8. Health, Safety & Medical Disclaimer

Your safety is our highest priority. Reformer Pilates is a physical activity and may not be suitable for everyone.

  • By booking a class, you confirm that you are in good physical health and have no medical conditions, injuries, or contraindications that would prevent you from safely participating.

  • It is your responsibility to inform your instructor of any injuries, medical conditions, pregnancy, or physical limitations before each class.

  • MUSE Pilates strongly recommends that clients with pre-existing medical conditions, chronic pain, or recent surgery obtain medical clearance before attending.

  • MUSE Pilates, its instructors, and its staff are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during or as a result of participating in our classes.

  • Participation in all classes is entirely at your own risk.

9. Studio Rules & Client Conduct

By entering MUSE Pilates, you agree to:

  • Arrive on time. Late arrivals (more than 5 minutes after class start) may not be admitted for safety and experience reasons — this is a non-negotiable studio policy.

  • Wear grip socks at all times on the reformer machines. Bare feet and regular socks are not permitted on equipment.

  • Treat the studio space, equipment, and all staff and clients with respect.

  • Follow all instructor instructions. Failure to do so may result in removal from class.

  • Not use mobile phones during class.

  • Not bring food into the studio.

MUSE Pilates reserves the right to refuse entry or membership to any individual who does not comply with our studio standards or whose behaviour negatively impacts the experience of others.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the MUSE Pilates website, social media channels, and studio — including but not limited to brand name, logo, photography, videography, class formats, playlists, and written content — is the intellectual property of MUSE Pilates and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written consent.

11. Photography & Filming

Photography and video recording by clients inside the studio is not permitted without prior written consent from MUSE Pilates management. This policy protects the privacy, comfort, and experience of all clients.

MUSE Pilates may photograph or film classes for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any such content, please inform us in writing before attending.

12. Personal Data & Privacy

MUSE Pilates collects and processes your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch privacy law.

Data We Collect

When you create an account, make a booking, or purchase a product, we collect:

  • Name, email address, and contact information

  • Payment information (processed securely via our third-party booking platform — we do not store card details)

  • Health information provided voluntarily for safety purposes (e.g., injuries, pregnancy)

  • Booking history and attendance records

  • Communication preferences

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

  • Process bookings, payments, and memberships

  • Communicate class confirmations, cancellation notices, and scheduling updates

  • Apply our cancellation and no-show policy

  • Send marketing communications (only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time)

  • Comply with our legal obligations

Booking Platform & Third-Party Software

MUSE Pilates uses a third-party booking and studio management platform to manage client accounts, reservations, and payments. By creating an account and booking with us, you acknowledge that your personal data will be stored and processed by this platform, subject to their own privacy policy. We will always disclose which platform we use on our website and ensure it is GDPR-compliant.

Note: Once a booking software is selected, the name of the platform and a link to its privacy policy will be added here.

Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention requirements

  • Object to marketing communications at any time

  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, MUSE Pilates shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage

  • Loss or damage to personal property brought into the studio

  • Any injury sustained as a result of failure to disclose a medical condition or failure to follow instructor guidance

  • Disruption to services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to government orders, health emergencies, or building access issues

14. Changes to Terms

MUSE Pilates reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on our website with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam.
